Frequently Asked Questions
Do your Wrightsocks really work?
Absolutely!
Thanks to the double-layer system, specially developed polyester, and the elasticity of the socks, friction is prevented, moisture is quickly wicked away, and the sock always fits snugly around the foot. Of course, it is also important to choose the right socks for the right activity.
Longer distances and more sensitive feet require thicker socks. The shoe also has a big impact, and everyone has unique feet. Making the right choice is therefore crucial.
Which size should I choose?
The sizing of our Wrightsocks is generous:
Our socks are made with more lycra and nylon than regular socks, making them very elastic. This results in a sock that always fits snugly and comfortably around your foot. The better the sock fits, the less it will slip and cause friction. This also means that Wrightsock socks have a generous sizing.
| Shoe Size | Wrightsock Size |
|---|---|
| 34 to 37 | Small |
| 37.5 to 41 | Medium |
| 41.5 to 45 | Large |
| 45.5 to 49 | Extra-Large |
What sock heights do you offer?
At Wrightsock, we offer four different models. Each model is named after the original American terms. Each model is designed for a specific type of shoe, because it is of course important that you wear the right sock for your shoes.
Low Tab
The Low Tab model is an ankle sock suitable for sneakers and low shoes. A handy addition is the ‘tab’, a small lip at the back of the heel that makes the socks easy to put on or take off.
Quarter
The Quarter model comes just above the ankle and is ideal for athletes, low hiking shoes, and light casual shoes.
Crew
The Crew model is a classic high sock that offers a lot of warmth due to the higher shaft. Perfect for sturdy hiking boots and colder weather.
OTC
OTC stands for over-the-calf, and that is exactly the purpose of this high sock that reaches the calf. Maximum warmth and comfort for people who like to wear high socks.
Can Wrightsocks be washed in the washing machine?
Yes, Wrightsocks can be machine washed. Use a maximum of 40 ⁰C, wash with colored laundry, and do not use fabric softener. It is best to wash Wrightsocks inside out. This helps the socks stay looking good longer.
After washing, you can turn the inner sock back in by hand, and the sock will fit properly again when you put it on.
Can Wrightsocks be put in the dryer?
Yes, the Wrightsocks can be dried in the dryer at a low temperature, except for the Merino Coolmesh II socks. Air drying on the line is preferred anyway.
Should I wash my socks before wearing them for the first time?
If you are prone to blisters, it is important to wash the socks before wearing them for the first time. The yarn undergoes a special treatment during the manufacturing process. Wax is added to the yarn to help it pass through the machines.
This wax is easily removed from the yarn even with lukewarm water. This makes the sock even smoother and softer – an important condition for protection against blisters.
What about the warranty?
At Wrightsock, we guarantee blister-free walking. If you do get blisters while wearing our socks, you can always contact us to find a suitable solution.
And if you have received your order but are not satisfied with one or more items or the size is not right, you can of course exchange or return your purchases.
