The production of Wrightsock takes place in North Carolina, United States. Founded by Ellis Bill and Alline Wrightenberry in 1948 as a wholesale business, socks have also been produced at the Wrightenberry Mills factory since 1988.
In 1988, Jerry Wrightenberry was the second generation to run the factory. He developed the double-layer Wrightsock as a solution for his son. As an avid athlete, his son Joey often got blisters, and the more he trained, the more his performance was hindered. Jerry realized that the key to success and optimal, blister-free sports performance for his son Joey lay in the material.
Excessive friction, heat, and moisture built up especially on the feet, weakening and damaging the skin. To address this, Jerry developed special Dri-Wright polyester to wick away moisture and a double-layer lining to absorb friction.
Today, Joey and his sister run the factory in the eastern United States. Since 1988, improvements in the development process have been made every day to continue guaranteeing the best quality.
In the Benelux, Jongejans Trading is the proud distributor of Wrightsock.
